Winnipeg Youth to Participate in ‘Jumpstart Games’

Boys and Girls Clubs of WinnipegThe first ever Winnipeg Jumpstart Games are being held today, giving youth with the Boys and Girls Clubs of Winnipeg and Canadian Tire Jumpstart program a day of fun activities in the summer heat.

About 1,000 local kids will celebrate their participation in the free Community School Investigators (CSI) Summer Learning Program.

The five-week CSI Program, which is designed to combat summer learning loss through a variety of educational and recreational activities, will incorporate a Jumpstart Hour of physical activity each day this summer to help kids in the program get more active.

The day will also include a BBQ lunch and giveaways for participants.

The Jumpstart Games will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Waverley Soccer Complex, 900 Waverley Street.
