The first ever Winnipeg Jumpstart Games are being held today, giving youth with the Boys and Girls Clubs of Winnipeg and Canadian Tire Jumpstart program a day of fun activities in the summer heat.
About 1,000 local kids will celebrate their participation in the free Community School Investigators (CSI) Summer Learning Program.
The five-week CSI Program, which is designed to combat summer learning loss through a variety of educational and recreational activities, will incorporate a Jumpstart Hour of physical activity each day this summer to help kids in the program get more active.
The day will also include a BBQ lunch and giveaways for participants.
The Jumpstart Games will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Waverley Soccer Complex, 900 Waverley Street.
