A 30-year-old man has died after a crash on Highway 59 just north of Scanterbury, Manitoba near Patricia Beach.
RCMP were called to the scene at around 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, where they say a 2003 Honda Civic travelling southbound collided head-on with a lumber truck travelling northbound. Police say the Civic was attempting to pass on a solid line when it was unsafe to do so.
The driver of the Civic was pronounced deceased at the scene, while the 39-year-old driver of the lumber truck was taken to local hospital in stable condition.
Alcohol is not believed to be a factor and police continue to investigate.
The name of the deceased isn’t being released.
