The second in a series of acoustic sessions filmed backstage at the 2014 Winnipeg Folk Festival has been released.
Hiss Golden Messenger sang a song off his fifth full-length album, Lateness of Dancers.
The track “Saturday’s Song” gives a taste of the theme of the record — Hiss Golden Messenger (M.C. Taylor’s) growing self-awareness. Recorded in a tin-roof barn with longtime collaborators including members of Megafaun and Mountain Man, the record is comprised of intellectual, challenging songs in profound poetry.
The Folk Fest is highlighting an artist every week in August who played in this summer’s festival.
