A 15-year-old girl was chased and nearly grabbed while walking in Westwood Wednesday morning.
Winnipeg police say the victim was walking alone at around 1 a.m. in the area of Rouge Road and Browning Boulevard when she was followed by an unknown man. The victim feared for her safety and began to run. The suspect gave chase and tried to grab her, but soon fled when the teen screamed out. He was last seen running northbound on Wordsworth Way.
The suspect is described as aboriginal in appearance, 30-40 years of age, approximately 5’8” tall with a medium build. He was wearing a black hoody and black pants.

UPDATE: Thursday, August 7 — Anthony Abigosis, 40, of Winnipeg has been charged with assault. He remains in custody.
