A tip by German law enforcement to Winnipeg police has ended with a local man facing child pornography charges.
Police say German authorities contacted them in September 2013 as the result of one of their investigations, which revealed a Winnipeg man was in possession of child pornography.
Police executed a search warrant on Wednesday after a lengthy investigation in the 1000 block of Isbister Street.
A 45-year-old man was arrested without incident and faces numerous child pornography charges, including possession and distribution of the material.
He was released on a promise to appear.
