Another candidate for the Charleswood — Tuxedo ward has come forward vying for the spot of city councillor.

Evan Duncan has declared his candidacy and will join lawyer Marty Morantz and Luc Lewandoski in the race.

The community leader and organizer has called Charleswood his home all his life and volunteers as a drop-in coordinator at Westdale and River West Park schools.

Working as a juvenile counsellor with Manitoba Justice, Duncan is also an educational assistant with the Pembina Trails School Division and a volunteer coach for community hockey teams.

“I listen to people, collaborate to identify solutions, work hard and stay accountable,” Duncan said in a release. “I’ve used this approach to achieve positive outcomes in my community and plan on taking the same approach at city hall to get things done for the people of Charleswood — Tuxedo — Whyte Ridge and the City of Winnipeg.”

Councillor Paula Havixbeck, who holds the riding, is currently one of eight mayoral candidates.
