RCMP Crest LogoAn 82-year-old man has drowned in Whiteshell Provincial Park after falling out of a boat.

RCMP say the victim and a 50-year-old man, both from Winnipeg, were fishing at Lamprey Falls Monday morning at around 8 a.m. when the accident occurred.

While attempting to anchor the boat, both men were thrown from the watercraft. They were both wearing lifejackets and tried to make it back to shore. The 82-year-old stopped breathing along the way and couldn’t be revived.
