A culmination of several events wrapped into a giant downtown Winnipeg street party will include a tribute to late actor Robin Williams.
ManyFest is September 5-7 and put on by the Downtown Winnipeg BIZ. As part of its Giant Movie in the Park, which takes place on the festival’s opening night, the BIZ will screen “Jumanji” to the thousands in attendance.
“This is an important festival for downtown,” said Stefano Grande, executive director of the Downtown Winnipeg BIZ. “I can’t think of a better way to enjoy Broadway and its rich history than to add Winnipeg musicians, artisans, and people on the street. This is what downtown is all about — celebrating people and place.”
Other highlights include Food Truck Wars, the Big Dance on Broadway and Electric Donkey Glow Run, wine and beer festival, live music, Ciclovia, Lights on Broadway, the 10 and 10 race, and farmers’ market.
An estimated 40,000 are expected to turn out to Broadway for ManyFest during the three-day festival.
