Man Attempts to Lure Child in Central Park

Winnipeg Police CrestWinnipeg police are looking for a suspect after an attempted luring of a child in Central Park.

Police say the five-year-old boy and his mother were in the park on Sunday afternoon when an unknown man tried to lure her son away. A nearby lifeguard intervened and the man left the area. The boy wasn’t injured.

The suspect is described as a black man, approximately 25-years-old, 5’6”-5’7” tall with a slim build. He was wearing red hooded jacket, green shorts, gold necklace and was carrying a green and black Thomas Engine backpack.

UPDATE: Wednesday, August 20Tyrone Olawemi Abdul Tijani-Mazur of Winnipeg has been arrested and charged. He remains in custody.
