WINNIPEG — The 45th edition of Folklorama attracted just under 413,000 visitors during its two-week run.

The annual multicultural celebration included 43 pavilions, with many venues experiencing sellouts. This year’s festival had three less pavilions than 2013.

“Because Folklorama means different things to different people, we wanted our visitors to experience Folklorama in their own unique way,” said Folklorama president Amelia Sheocharan of this year’s theme, How Will You Folklorama? “We are so happy that people enjoyed Folklorama. It is due to the passion and commitment of our 20,000 incredible volunteers that we proudly celebrated our 45th annual festival.”

Performers from Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Cuba, Ireland, Jamaica, Peru, the United States and Ukraine joined Folklorama’s talented local performers in showcasing their unique cultures at a variety of pavilions.

Next year’s Folklorama is August 2 to 15, 2015.
