Slower speed limits in Winnipeg school zones come into effect on September 1.
The city says a maximum speed of 30 km/h will be in effect around 171 Winnipeg schools from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday to Friday from September to June.
Motorists will be warned of the reduced speed with signs posted in designated school zones. An end-of-zone sign will also be posted.
Reduced speed school zones apply to any street that borders a private or public school which includes grade six or lower, and is not a regional street.
A list of streets impacted is available on the city’s website.
