Emerson Residents Evacuated After Train Derailment

RCMP Crest LogoA trail derailment in Emerson, Manitoba on Monday evacuated about 40 people in the community.

The train — carrying propane — derailed at around 7:30 a.m. near 5th Street East and Taylor Avenue.

Two cars left the tracks, but no leaks were detected.

Areas within 100 metres of the site were evacuated as a precaution.

Police are continuing to investigate.
