RCMP Crest LogoThree young girls have been rescued from a Parkland area home after RCMP say they were being sexually abused and exploited by their parents.

Police say two girls under 10, as well as a younger female sibling, were often not fed, and locked in their rooms most of the day.

The two older girls were also forced to perform sexual acts.

The three have been removed from the home and are in the care of Child and Family Services.

Parkland RCMP began investigating on August 7 after receiving a tip about child abuse occurring inside the home.

The parents of the children have been arrested and face several charges, including sexual assault, making child pornography, assault with a weapon, failure to provide the necessities of life, forcible confinement, corrupting morals, sexual exploitation of a young person, sexual interference, assault and invitation to sexual touching.

Their names and exact location where the alleged abuse occurred isn’t being released to protect the victims’ identities.

RCMP continue to investigate.
