Bisons Recruit 13 for Women’s Soccer Squad

University of Manitoba BisonsThirteen local recruits will be suiting up for the Manitoba Bisons women’s soccer squad this coming season.

Head coach Vanessa Martinez Lagunas is beginning her second year at the team’s helm and announced the recruits on Tuesday.

They include midfielders Michelle Herms, Sara Schur, Aziza Kinnarath, Olivia Chomicki, Kim Mulatu, and Tatum O’Meara, forwards Chelsea Dubiel, Camille Plett, Jasmine Plett, and Kayla Jeffries, and defenders Courtney Champagne, Megan Csizmadia, and Kailyn Balfour.

“All players are very talented and come to Manitoba from different local clubs. I am thrilled to coach them and look forward to watching them contribute to the Bisons for many years,” Martinez Lagunas said.

The Bisons will play a pre-season, non-conference game on Friday, August 29 vs. the University of Minnesota-Crookston. Game time is 7 p.m. on the U of M’s turf fields.
