Another Hiker Rescued from Mantario Trail

September 1, 2014 3:49 PM | News

RCMP Crest LogoAnother hiker had to be rescued from the Mantario Trail on Monday — the second rescue mission in the area in recent days.

RCMP say the Winnipeg man was in a group of three when he began experiencing abdominal pain at around 9:30 a.m.

A float plane from Lac du Bonnet was dispatched near Moosehead Lake in the Whiteshell Provincial Park.

The man was rescued and transferred to hospital by ambulance.

RCMP say when planning a hike always have a method for contacting others if an emergency arises. Bring a cell phone and have provisions to make a fire.
