Winnipeg Election Candidates to Gather at ‘ElectionFest’

September 2, 2014 7:00 AM | News

Winnipeg Civic Election 2014A tradeshow-like atmosphere will see all Winnipeg mayoral and council candidates in one room to chat one-on-one with potential voters.

ElectionFest 2014 is being put on by Metro Winnipeg in partnership with the Downtown Winnipeg BIZ and the RBC Convention Centre on September 22.

There will be no debates or moderators, and candidates will speak freely to members of the public on a number of issues raising concern.

“At Metro Winnipeg, we’re committed to bringing our readers the news how and when they want it,” said managing editor Elisha Dacey. “ElectionFest 2014 is an extension of that. This is a chance for voters — many of whom haven’t decided who they’re going to vote for — to find all the candidates in one spot.”

ElectionFest will be held at the RBC Convention Centre from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Admission is free, but a donation to Change for the Better will be accepted.

Winnipeg goes to the polls on October 22.
