Woman Killed After Car Strikes Tree in Selkirk

RCMP Crest LogoA 27-year-old woman from the RM of St. Clements was killed Friday after the vehicle she was in struck a tree in Selkirk.

Manitoba RCMP say the crash happened at around 5 a.m. in the 400 block of Robinson Avenue.

The woman was a passenger in the vehicle with two others, including the 21-year-old male driver and another 27-year-old woman. The first woman was pronounced deceased at the scene, while the two other occupants were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police say speed and alcohol are considered factors in the crash. All three were reportedly wearing seatbelts.

The name of the deceased isn’t being released.
