The Manitoba Museum will be closed to visitors this week (September 8-12) for its first annual cleaning week.
The museum galleries, Planetarium and Science Gallery will be entirely washed, disinfected, vacuumed and dry mopped during this time.
A museum spokesperson says the Nonsuch Gallery will also be cleaned, along with aerial vacuuming. One of the week’s highlights will be the opening of a giant parachute from the Black Brant rocket. It will be spread out, catalogued, given a condition report and photographed.
The museum will reopen for business as usual on Saturday, September 13 in time for the launch of Real Pirates on October 17.
