The Manitoba Bison women’s soccer team is entering the 24th annual Duckworth Challenge on Saturday when they face crosstown rivals the University of Winnipeg Wesmen.
Manitoba is 1-1-0 while the Wesmen are 0-2-0 early on in the 2014 season.
The Bisons won their first game of the season last Friday by defeating the visiting Regina Rams 2-1 to begin their conference season.
Last season, Manitoba defeated Winnipeg by a 2-0 margin in the inaugural edition of soccer included in the Duckworth Challenge. The two teams met for the first time in conference action in the 2012 season and Manitoba prevailed by a 1-0 score at Winnipeg to begin the Canada West season.
Game time tomorrow is 6 p.m. at the University of Manitoba turf fields (west field) on the Fort Garry campus.
