Girl, 11, Offered Ride & Marijuana While Walking to School

Winnipeg Police CrestWinnipeg police are looking for a suspicious man after an 11-year-old girl was offered a ride while walking to school on Friday.

Police say the girl was walking in the area of Rothesay Street and Springfield Road at around 9 a.m. when the man stopped to speak with the child. The man also asked the girl if she wanted any “weed,” but drove away when she told him she didn’t smoke.

The suspect is described as aboriginal in appearance, about 25-years-old with short brown hair. A tattooed word was noted to run along his left jawline.

The vehicle is described as a newer model, black in colour, with a Winnipeg Jets logo on the bottom left-hand side of the rear window.
