Three Winnipeg contestants have made it to compete on the new season of “Canada’s Smartest Person.”
The CBC TV series includes 32 remarkable Canadians putting themselves to the test and squaring off in each episode for a chance to take home the prestigious title.
Contestants hail from all across Canada and range in age from 16 to 71, including an artist, scientist, firefighter and musician to name a few.

Three Winnipeg women are on the show this season, including:
- Alea Ciecko, 23, psychiatric nursing student
- Cat Jahnke, 33, musician
- Melanie Martin, 40, physicist and associate professor of physics and radiology
“Canada’s Smartest Person” premieres Sunday, September 28 at 8 p.m./8:30 NT.
