Winnipeg police have brought in an expert to provide training in regards to child sexual exploitation and offender behaviour.

Dr. Joe Sullivan of Mentor Forensic Services will work with the WPS and other partner agencies to teach and develop profiling of offenders, the understanding of offender behaviour and progressive interview techniques.

Representatives from child welfare, law enforcement and other agencies from across Canada and the U.S. will also be participating in the Specialist Interview Course.

Sullivan, who is based in Ireland, has worked with the WPS on two previous occasions. He is being brought to the city with financial support from the province’s criminal forfeiture unit.
