Four days after saying he was quitting municipal politics for the federal level, Russ Wyatt says he’s changed his mind.

The Transcona councillor said on Friday he would seek the Liberal nomination in the Elmwood — Transcona ward after a conversation with party leader Justin Trudeau.

Wyatt says community support and feedback from his constituents is what swayed his decision to return and seek another term.

Wyatt filed his nomination papers with the city clerk’s office on Tuesday ahead of the October 22 election.

He plans to serve another full term if elected.
