Empress Street will be closed at Ellice Avenue beginning Wednesday at 7 a.m. for infrastructure improvements in the Polo Park area.
The city says the northbound lanes of Empress will reopen Friday, September 26 while work continues on Empress southbound lanes for one week. Construction will shift, closing Empress northbound lanes and reopening Empress southbound lanes, for an additional week.
Traffic will be maintained in both directions on Ellice Avenue and local access will be maintained on Empress Street at all times.
Motorists are reminded to allow additional travel time or to use alternate routes in this area to reach their destinations.
