New Campaign Shows Role of Winnipeg Police Officers

September 23, 2014 7:50 AM | News

The Winnipeg Police Association has rolled out two new PSAs to build awareness of the important role police officers play in the community.

The 30-second TV ads and 15-second online ads are the first in a five-part series to span the next six months.

“Although public opinion polls show a good level of support for police officers in Winnipeg, our members felt there was work to be done in communicating just how demanding the job is, and what police officers go through on a day-to-day basis,” said Maurice (Moe) Sabourin, president of the WPA.

“The PSA campaign captures what being a Winnipeg police officer is all about and we are very excited about this community awareness initiative.”

The campaign, “Protecting what matters,” conveys what police officers strive to do every day — preventing crime to ensure a safe and healthy community, added Sabourin.
