New Interchange Planned for Highway 59 and the Perimeter

September 24, 2014 1:12 PM | News

Manitoba LogoThe Manitoba government is building a new interchange at Highway 59 and the north Perimeter Highway to improve traffic flow and safety.

Infrastructure and Transportation Minister Steve Ashton said the interchange will also provide an uninterrupted and more efficient path for heavy transport trucks moving products onto CentrePort Canada Way.

“This project complements other major route improvements already announced and underway to help boost Manitoban’s economy,” said Ashton. “The project will also feature an active transportation component to ensure that pedestrians and cyclists are able to safely cross the Perimeter Highway along the Raleigh Street/Gateway Road corridor.”

A public information session to present the proposed functional design will be held in East St. Paul today at the Royal Canadian Legion, 3600 De Vries Avenue, from 5 to 8 p.m.
