Manitoba RCMP are in the midst of their school zone enforcement campaign, monitoring drivers’ speeds and other behaviour behind the wheel.
The month-long initiative began September 1 when motorists are required to slow down to 30 km/h in marked school zones.
Between September 15-19, police handed out 111 offence notices and warnings for traffic offences, primarily speeding, in addition to some intersection and seatbelt-related infractions.
The enforcement campaign is running until September 30 in partnership with Manitoba Public Insurance.
