The Winnipeg Art Gallery has pulled back the veil on two new art exhibits, showcasing the work of famed Spanish artist Salvador Dali.
Dali Up Close and Masterworks from the Beaverbrook Art Gallery will open at Nuit Blanche Winnipeg this Saturday.
It’s the first time canvasses by the artist, including the massive and rarely traveled Santiago El Grande, will appear in the city.
“After the success of 100 Masters: Only in Canada, our visitors asked for more international art — and we are delivering,” said Dr. Stephen Borys, WAG director and CEO. “Masterworks from the Beaverbrook Art Gallery offers one of the finest European collections in Canada, including the best in British art.”
The opening night is free for visitors and will begin showings at 8 p.m. The exhibits will be at the WAG until January 25, 2015. For more on the stories behind Dali’s work, visit dali.exhibits.wag.ca.
