Designers were recognized Tuesday on the roof of the cityplace parkade in downtown Winnipeg for making local businesses stand out.
The Downtown Winnipeg BIZ held the Shades of Cool rooftop pop-up cocktail reception to award the winners of the second annual Commerce Design Winnipeg contest.
The winning businesses are Boon Burger, ??Qualico Family Centre, Carpathia Credit Union, Marion Pharmacy and Kimchi Sushi.
The event was presented by the BIZ, Winnipeg Chamber of Commerce, and StorefrontMB, who treated attendees to delicious cuisine and conversation about Winnipeg’s emerging design culture.
“Five of the nine winning businesses from last year’s Commerce Design Winnipeg contest are located downtown,” said Stefano Grande, executive director of the Downtown Winnipeg BIZ. “As a result, many of these businesses have noted increased sales and visits.”
