The University of Winnipeg is inviting the public to take a tour of its new UNITED Health and RecPlex.
On October 5, the U of W is holding a free community open house of the $40 million facility, which is the most comprehensive athletic and wellness facility ever built in Winnipeg’s inner-city.
The complex will house activities such as soccer, basketball, and ultimate frisbee for the public, while a scavenger hunt will keep the kids entertained.
On Spence Street, a festival-like atmosphere will include music, balloons, buskers, face painting, and skate boarding (weather permitting). There will also be beef stew and bannock served.
The open house runs from 1-4 p.m. at 350 Spence Street between Portage and Ellice Avenue.
