The Royal Winnipeg Ballet will receive $1.55 million from the federal government over the next two years through the Canada Arts Training Fund.
Winnipeg South MP Rod Bruinooge made the announcement Friday, saying the funding will also benefit the Royal Winnipeg Ballet School.
The program’s funding contributes to the development of Canadian artists by supporting high-calibre arts training institutions.
The Winnipeg Foundation is also receiving a $118,100 grant from Ottawa to manage and invest on behalf of the RWB.
