Steven Schipper (MTC)
The Royal Manitoba Theatre Centre has renamed its endowment fund to honour longtime artistic director Steven Schipper.
Known as the Royal MTC Endowment Fund in Honour of Steven Schipper, the fund is managed by The Winnipeg Foundation and continues to help Royal MTC commission new work, to employ local artists and craftspeople, and to create the style of production Manitobans have come to enjoy from the theatre.
Schipper has held his role with the theatre since 1989, and has received credit for enhancing the company’s artistry and for developing a new base of audience members and donors.
The endowment fund is currently valued at $16.5 million.
