Fire at School in The Pas Deemed to Be Arson

A fire that destroyed a school in The Pas is being investigated as arson.

The fire last Sunday at Mary Duncan School broke out in the early morning hours and at the time, wasn’t considered suspicious.

RCMP say their investigation has since shifted to a criminal element.

No injuries were reported in the blaze and students have been transferred to other facilities to continue their studies.

The Office of the Fire Commissioner continues to assist with the investigation.
