A 17-year-old boy has been arrested after a stabbing Wednesday afternoon that sent another teen to hospital.
The assault took place in the area of Chalmers Avenue and Gateway Street just before 4 p.m.
Winnipeg police say a 15-year-old boy was stabbed in the upper body and taken to hospital in critical condition, but later upgraded to stable.
The victim and his group sought help at nearby Elmwood High School and waited for emergency personnel.
Police say the victim and accused were known to each other. The suspect remained at the scene and waited for police.
He has been charged with aggravated assault and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. He was released on a promise to appear.
