The former president and CEO of Manitoba Public Insurance has terminated a transitional contract and paid back $27,300 in salary to the Crown corporation.

Marilyn McLaren was retained shortly after retiring last year for the purposes of consulting MPI while the new CEO, Dan Guimond, settled into the job.

A legislative committee revealed this week that McLaren’s $50,000 contract consisted of “no work” and was merely an insurance policy.

McLaren terminated the one-year contract earlier this week and paid back the majority of her remaining salary on Friday.
