Four boys are facing charges after a fire destroyed Mary Duncan School in The Pas on September 28.

RCMP said earlier this week the cause had been contributed to arson, but didn’t announce any arrests at the time.

Police have since charged a 12-year-old, two 14-year-olds and a 16-year-old boy with arson. A fifth youth under the age of 12 was involved, but can’t be charged with a criminal offence due to being underage.

The accused — all from The Pas — were released to their parents with a nightly curfew of 7 p.m. They will appear in court on November 4.
