RCMP Crest LogoA multi-vehicle crash near Kemnay, Manitoba on Friday night sent four people to hospital.

RCMP say a 2008 Dodge pickup truck and 2006 Pontiac G6 sedan were travelling at a high rate of speed eastbound on Highway 1 and Highway 1A at around midnight.

The G6 lost control and hit a 2010 Ford Escape in the westbound lane. Both vehicles landed in the westbound ditch — one of which was heavily damaged and the other that had erupted in flames.

The 34-year-old woman driving the Escape, along with a one-year-old male infant, were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Both were from Regina, Saskatchewan.

The 48-year-old man driving the G6 and his 30-year-old male passenger, both from Brandon, were also taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The 27-year-old Dauphin man driving the pickup was later located.

RCMP say alcohol and speed are considered factors in the collision.

Police are continuing to investigate and can’t say whether any of the occupants were wearing seatbelts.
