A new mobile app and website from the Canadian Automobile Association is providing motorists with up-to-date pricing information at the gas pump.

The launch of the new tool comes on the heels of a recently released CAA poll, which found Canadians will drive further for cheaper gas prices.

“Gas prices are something Manitobans watch closely,” said Mike Mager, president and CEO of CAA Manitoba. “Manitobans, like other Canadians, often feel helpless about the cost of gas. Our new products provide consumers with the knowledge needed to make a well-informed decision on when to gas up.”

The poll found two thirds of Canadians will drive a further one kilometre to save 3¢/litre on gas, and more than 80 percent will drive one kilometre to save 5¢/litre.

The new app displays the national average gas price compared to the local price in the area of the user for over 100 Canadian cities, including Winnipeg, Brandon, Morris, Steinbach and Portage la Prairie.

The app is a free download for Apple and Android devices, or can be viewed online at GetGasPrices.ca.
