A 34-year-old man already serving time at Stony Mountain Institution was arrested last Friday after a string of bizarre sexual assaults.

Winnipeg police say between January and March of this year, four incidents were reported to them involving the same individual.

The man is accused of assaulting his support worker in the lower body while out in the community on parole. Police say he rammed the worker in the lower body with a shopping cart, causing an injury.

He’s also accused of sexually assaulting a female support worker by groping her in the lower body during another community outing.

The third incident occurred on a transit bus when the man allegedly made contact of a sexual nature with an unknown woman.

Police say the final incident occurred when the man yelled at a boy from a second floor window in the 1000 block of Main Street before exposing himself and performing an indecent act.

Russell Rolando Plett has been charged with two counts of sexual assault, assault with a weapon and indecent exposure to a person under 16.

Police say at the time of Plett’s arrest, he was incarcerated on unrelated matters.
