The Manitoba School Boards Association has come out with a tip sheet for parents on understanding and responding to bullying.

The guide, distributed on behalf of Safe Schools Manitoba, touches on the steps parents can take to address bullying. It includes points to help if their child is a victim of bullying, if they are bullying or if they are a bystander of an incident.

“The effects of bullying are widespread. It is devastating to a victim, and its impact can last a lifetime,” the tip sheet says. “If a bully’s harmful treatment of others is not dealt with at a young age, it can progress into adulthood.”
