Mayoral candidate Brian Bowman says he would be the best choice to promote Winnipeg on a national stage when it comes to attracting more business and investment to the city.
Bowman on Friday said he would use his experience as a business owner to represent the city, touting his work with the Winnipeg Chamber of Commerce and past international trade missions.
Bowman said he would visit every province in Canada, and where appropriate internationally, within his first year of being elected to promote Winnipeg as a good place to do business.
“We need to promote job creation and attract businesses and investment to Winnipeg,” said Bowman. “Winnipeggers need to ask themselves who do they want to represent them on the national and international stage when it comes to the promotion of our city as a good place to do business, live, and raise a family,” added Bowman.
He would also work with Economic Development Winnipeg (EDW) to enhance online and offline materials promoting business and investment in Winnipeg, along with coordinating with the province on marketing efforts outside of Manitoba affecting Winnipeg.
