The Assiniboine Park Zoo has been celebrating three days of “thanks” this weekend with special Thanksgiving-themed events and activities.

Those who visit the Journey to Churchill exhibit will receive a commemorative pin, and will also get to celebrate the one-year anniversary of polar bears Storm, Kaska and Aurora. The three arrived in Winnipeg approximately a year ago.

This weekend also marks the last of regularly scheduled Meet the Animals keeper talks, as zookeepers teach visitors about camels, cougars, Asiatic lions and more.

With the underwater viewing tunnels in Journey to Churchill still being closed, the 10% discount on admission is still in effect.

Visitors to the zoo can take in the fun today from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
