The bubbly will be flowing to mark the 23rd anniversary of the International Wine Festival of Manitoba this weekend.

The three-day event begins Friday at The Forks and runs through Sunday, featuring a selection of fine wines, a wide selection of Cognacs and aperitifs, savoury cheeses, and musical entertainment.

“Our hope is that if you find a wine you love you can simply take a few steps and purchase it,” said Mo Razik, owner of Fenton’s Wine Merchants and organizer of the festival. “It’s wonderful introducing people to a new wine or brandy they may not have tried before.”

The festival will feature live jazz by local artists, seminars and wine experts will be on hand to offer tasteful suggestions.

Admission is free and wine tasting tickets are 50 cents each. Net proceeds will be donated to Winnipeg Harvest.

Festival hours are Friday from 5-9 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from noon to 6:30 p.m.
