Voters going to the polls on Wednesday’s municipal election are being reminded to bring identification with them.
Eligible voters can cast ballots for mayor, councillor and school trustees, but also must prove their identity along with their voter card.
Examples of acceptable documents to confirm your name and address include one piece of valid government-issued photo ID with name and current address (examples: driver’s licence, enhanced identification card).
Polling stations will also accept two documents that together prove name and current address, such as birth certificate, Canadian citizenship card, Canadian passport, credit card, etc.
Election day polls are open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
