‘Bug Day’ to Explore Ways in Controlling Communicable Diseases

University of ManitobaManitoba’s largest healthcare education event is being held today on the U of M’s Bannatyne campus.

Called Bug Day, the 18th annual event is held during National Infection Prevention and Control Week. The day includes presentations from those working in the sectors dealing with the prevention and control of communicable diseases, as well as health issues in the community or healthcare setting.

Participating organizations include the University of Manitoba, Winnipeg Regional Health Authority, National Microbiology Laboratory, and Alberta Health Services.

Bug Day, hosted by the Health Sciences Centre Winnipeg in collaboration with the University of Manitoba College of Medicine, runs from 8 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. at the university’s Basic Medical Sciences Building, 727 McDermot Avenue.
