Music fans will get one less day to enjoy the Winnipeg Folk Festival next year.
Organizers are making the 2015 event a four-day affair instead of the usual five, but promise to deliver the same calibre of entertainment and festival experience as always.
“We know that time and money are tight for people because we’ve heard it directly from many members of our community including our audience and our volunteers,” said executive director Lynne Skromeda.
“Moving to a four-day festival allows us to address both those concerns while preserving the quality of the festival we all love and ensuring the continued health and sustainability of the organization.”
Ticket prices will drop for full four-day festival tickets. Early bird prices drop a four-day festival ticket to $185 (from $225), and the four-day festival camping ticket price to $260 (from $300). Kids under 12 are free.
The abbreviated 42nd annual festival will be held from July 9-12, 2015 in Birds Hill Provincial Park.
