City of Winnipeg crews will begin hitting the streets on Sunday for the annual fall cleanup.

Weather permitting, the cleanup is expected to take two weeks and will focus on the accumulation of leaves and other debris on city streets.

Temporary “no parking” signs will be placed in advance in some areas where parked cars would hinder the cleanup operation. When these signs are in place, motorists are encouraged to find alternate parking during the posted times to avoid being ticketed or towed.

Motorists and pedestrians are urged to use caution around cleanup crews and heavy equipment which will be operating throughout the city over the coming weeks.

Residents are reminded that the curbside yard waste collection program will continue until mid-November, weather permitting.
