Winnipeg police are looking for the driver of a silver Dodge Charger after he allegedly mowed down a man in a bout of road rage in the Maples.
Police were called to the area of Marbury Road and Mapleglen Drive at around 2:40 a.m. Sunday for the report of a crash involving a pedestrian.
Police say the driver of the Charger and the driver of a black Infiniti G35 became involved in a driving dispute.
The 31-year-old male passenger of the G35 exited the vehicle to speak with the other driver, at which time the Charger is said to have suddenly drove toward him at a high rate of speed while he was standing in the roadway.
The victim was hit and taken to hospital in critical condition.
Police are now looking for the Charger, which they say has front-end damage and possibly windshield damage.

UPDATE: Tuesday, October 28 — The 31-year-old man has since succumbed to his injuries. His name isn’t being released. No arrests have been made and the homicide unit is investigating.
UPDATE: Monday, October 27 — The vehicle has since been located and seized by police.
