With the winter season quickly approaching, is your vehicle ready for the bitter cold?

CAA Manitoba is reminding motorists to prepare their vehicles for the cold weather, with the simplest preparations such as topping up fluids to putting on winter tires for added safety.

“It is important to prepare your car for the upcoming season,” said Angele Young, public and government affairs specialist with CAA Manitoba. “This will lessen the likelihood of having troubles in the dead of winter.”

CAA suggests checking belts, hoses and fluids at an approved garage, putting on winter tires, and packing your vehicle for unexpected events with an emergency kit.

Motorists should also have their vehicle battery checked. CAA will offer free testing on Saturday, November 1 for both members and non-members.

Testing will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at all CAA branches in Winnipeg.
