A 42-year-old woman was able to escape her home after a man known to her forced his way in and allegedly sexually assaulted her on Wednesday.
Winnipeg police were called to a residence on Niakwa Road at around 2:30 p.m. after the victim says she was hit and sexually assaulted after opening her door to the man.
Police arrested Jeffrey Alexander Hilz, 52, of Winnipeg at the scene without incident.
Hilz has been charged with sexual assault causing bodily harm and other offences.
He remains in custody.
